“The great news is that you don’t have to run a marathon to benefit from exercise. Just getting out there and moving more helps. Exercise benefits many things including your cardiovascular system, and it cuts the risk of some cancers.” says Dr. Edward Laskowski, co-director of the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center.

Dr. Laskowski adds that even simple activities such as taking a few five-minute walk breaks at work, or walking while talking on the phone, are effective ways to build activity into your life.

For the safety of its patients, staff, and visitors, Mayo Clinic has strict masking policies in place. Anyone shown without a mask was recorded prior to COVID-19 or recorded in an area not designated for patient care, where social distancing and other safety protocols were followed.
