Effective March 25
To protect patients and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayo Clinic will close its orthopedics and sports medicine facility at 600 Hennepin Ave. in Minneapolis, for four weeks, beginning Wednesday, March 25.
The closure affects all Mayo Clinic services provided at the facility, including sports medicine, pediatric orthopedics, radiology, laboratory medicine, dermatology and electromyography.
This closure aligns with Mayo Clinic’s recent decision to defer elective care and only see urgent patients in the outpatient setting. Given the number of urgent cases at this facility, this closure is designed to lower the risk of exposure to COVID-19 among patients and staff.
Mayo Clinic recognizes that this closure may be difficult and inconvenient for patients, but is taking this step for everyone’s safety.
Mayo Clinic will reach out to patients to update them if changes to their appointments are needed. Patients with urgent orthopedic or sports medicine needs may seek care at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Call 507-266-9100 to schedule an appointment or for more information.
